I believe it is our collective responsibility to make certain each child receives a high-quality, rigorous, and relevant education designed to help nurture children into self-directed learners prepared for an ever-changing future. As educators build systems, supports, and instructional experiences, it is vital to maximize each learner's potential, stretch his/her abilities, leverage his/her strengths, and consider his/her passions, interests, and unique backgrounds. To realize this vision, I have dedicated personal focus to leverage my strengths as a leader and transform education.
As shared by Ronald Reagan, “The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He/She is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.” Leading others and "igniting potential" is my strongest sense of purpose. This includes leading and igniting potential in an organization, my administrative colleagues, teachers and staff, families, or students. There are several gifts and talents I possess that has helped me be successful.
I am a leaner. I carry a growth mindset knowing there is always room for improvement. I have comfort in receiving feedback and co-learning with others. I also thrive in a climate and culture that is a true learning community focused on continuous personal and collective improvement, inquiry, and reflection.
I am trustworthy and easily build respectful relationships. I can develop trust through listening, empathizing, connecting, supporting, and following through on commitments.
I am a lead change agent. I believe in sharing leadership and recognize that no one person is the most knowledgeable or experienced practitioner. Rather, I recognize the strengths of the staff and I tap into expertise to improve teaching and learning.
I am an advocate. School populations are ever changing and becoming more and more diverse. With this comes urgency and a moral imperative to ensure the learning community recognizes and values all students. I am passionate to coach around designing and delivering innovative learning experiences equitably.
I lead with influence and have witnessed others I work with doing the "great things".
